Time To Teach® was founded as an answer to a question educators couldn't stop asking: Where are the strategies that actually work? For over 30 years, that answer has transformed classrooms, schools, and districts across all 50 states and 14 countries.
Time To Teach® was founded in 1993 by Rick Dahlgren — not in a university, not in a policy office, but in response to what educators kept saying they needed: real strategies, from people who had been in the room, that worked with today's students in today's schools.
What started as an answer to that question has grown into one of the most trusted professional development organizations in K-12 education. The content has always been the heart of it. When educators see and hear what we teach — the five core components, the research behind each one, the specific language and strategies — it sells itself. Not because it's clever marketing, but because it works.
Nearly all of our business is repeat and referral. School leaders tell colleagues. Teachers share with other teachers. Districts come back year after year. That's not an accident — it's the result of content that delivers measurable results, delivered by trainers who come from the profession they're serving.
We are constantly updating and evolving our content to stay current with the latest research, with today's students, and with today's challenges in schools. The strategies that worked in 1993 have been refined, expanded, and enriched by three decades of feedback from educators in the field. We speak to the teachers of today about the kids of today.
When educators experience Time To Teach® training, they don't need to be sold. The content speaks for itself.
Every Time To Teach® trainer is a practitioner — a former classroom teacher or school leader who has lived the challenges your staff faces. No consultants. No theory without practice.
We don't believe in six-month implementation plans. The strategies we teach are immediately applicable — educators use them the very next morning, and see results quickly.
We build campus-wide systems, not one-time PD days. When every adult uses the same framework, students experience consistency — and that's where real, lasting change happens.
Time To Teach® works alongside every program you already have — PBIS, restorative practices, MTSS, RTI. We don't replace. We give staff the practical tools those frameworks often lack.
When educators have strategies that work, everything changes. We regularly hear: "I was going to retire early — now I'm staying." That outcome matters as much as the data to us.
We constantly update our content to reflect the latest research and the realities of today's classrooms. We speak to today's teachers about today's students — not the schools of 20 years ago.
That's the clearest measure of whether training actually works. When a district brings us back year after year, when a principal calls a colleague and says "you have to bring Time To Teach® to your school" — that's the validation no marketing can manufacture.
"I have been an educator for 19 years. I wish I had found this 19 years ago. I cannot believe the difference in my classroom."
